THE SUPREME COURT SAYS NO TO HEARING E-LOG LAWSUIT…NOW WHAT?

Service Transportation Uncategorized

BREAKING NEWS, The United States Supreme Court announced today that it will not hear a case on the required use of electronic logs (e-logs) in commercial vehicles. So what does that mean? For Service Transportation is means nothing, because even if the rules were changed at this point, e-logs have proven to be an asset to dispatch, customers and drivers. DRIVER?? Yes many of our drivers will tell you that compared to other companies they have worked at where the load was expected to be somewhere no matter what, having the e-log ensure they are getting the required rest they need has been a real blessing in disguise. Because at the end of the day its not about driving 11 or 15 hours, its about having a quality of life, that includes them safely getting home to their loved ones. And that’s a delivery that always needs to happen.

ROAD CHECK 2017 JUNE 6-8

Service Transportation Safety, Weekly Tips

ROADCHECK 2017-  JUNE 6-8, 2017….SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR YOU? FOR MANY DRIVERS THIS IS A NERVOUS TIME, WHERE THE WORRY AND BURDEN OF BEING INSPECTED LEADS TO A STRESS FILLED FEW DAYS. FOR OTHERS, THOSE WHO ARE DOING THEIR JOBS AS PROFESSIONALS EVERYDAY WILL NO WORRIES. THIS YEARS FOCUS IS ON LOAD SECUREMENT. ENSURE EVERY LOAD YOU PULL IS SECURED AGAINST MOVEMENT AND SEALED WITH A TRAILER SEAL WITH THE SEAL NUMBER RECORDED ON THE PAPERWORK FOR THE LOAD. HERE AT SERVICE TRANSPORTATION WE KNOW WE WILL HAVE OUR SHARE OF INSPECTIONS DURING THIS TIME, BUT WE ALSO EXPECT TO HAVE A 100% PASSING RATE FOR ALL INSPECTIONS. IF STOPPED, ALWAYS REMAIN PROFESSIONAL, NEVER ARGUE WITH AN OFFICER, AND NOTIFY THE COMPANY AS SOON AS YOUR INSPECTION IS COMPLETE AND GIVE US THE GREAT NEWS OF ANOTEHR PASSING INSPECTION. REMEMBER ALSO THAT ALL TIME SPENT DURING INSPECTIONS NEED TO SHOWN ON-DUTY, AND NOTED IN YOUR LOGS AS EITHER ROADSIDE INSPECTION, OR INSPECTION AT FIXED SITE. BELOW IS A LINK TO THE COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SAFETY ADMINISTRATION WEBPAGE REGARDING THIS YEARS ROAD CHECK. PLEASE CONTACT THE SAFETY DEPARTMENT AT EXTENTION 7 IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, OR THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT SHOULD YOU NEED EQUIPTMENT REPAIRED AT EXTENSION 113. YOUR SUCCESS IS THE COMPANIES SUCCESS. IF YOU DO IT RIGHT, THEN YOU CANT DO IT WRONG… I WAS TAUGHT THAT UPON MY ENTRY INTO THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY, AND IT RINGS TRUE IN EVERYTHING WE DO. STAY SAFE, RUN LEGAL, AND DO IT RIGHT.

THANK YOU AND DRIVE SAFE.

EVERY INCH MATTERS

Service Transportation Safety, Weekly Tips

BEING A PROFESSIONAL DRIVER IS NEVER EASY, THIS I KNOW FIRSTHAND. THE DEADLINES AND PAPERWORK, THE WORRIES OF ISSUES OF HOME AND FAMILY ALONG WITH ALL THOSE CRAZY DRIVERS YOU SHARE THE ROAD WITH ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH DURING A WEEK. BUT YOU KNOW THESE THINGS ARE THINGS YOU HANDLE EVERYDAY. NO MATTER THE ROUTE YOU RUN, OR HOW OFTEN YOU HAVE TAKEN ANY STRETCH OF ROAD, ITS NEVER THE TWICE. THAT BLUE CAR LAST WEEK MAY BE A SCHOOL BUS TODAY, OR THE SMOOTHEST OF ROADS MONTHS AGO MAY TODAY BE TORN APART FOR ANOTHER REPAIR. AS YOU MOVE EVERYTHING AROUND YOU CHANGES. THE ONLY CONSTANT IS YOUR DILIGENCE BEHIND THE WHEEL TO KNOW THAT WHILE EVERY MILE YOU RUN IS WHAT PAYS THE BILLS, ITS ACTUALLY EVERY INCH YOU DRIVE THAT GETS YOU THERE. STAY RESTED, STAY FOCUSED, DRIVE SMART AND NEVER TAKE CHANCES.

FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME ANYTIME AT FRANK.EVANS@SERVTRAN.COM , OR POST A COMMENT IN THE COMMENTS. I WOULD LIKE FOR YOU TO SHARE YOUR TIPS FOR STAYING SAFE ON THE ROAD.
